Which healthcare facilities are authorized to conduct mental health examinations for specific jobs or positions?

Mental health examinations for specific jobs or positions are conducted at a main clinic (klinik utama), general hospital. Alternatively, Mental hospital owned by the central government, regional government, or private sector. Under Article 8 of Permenkes 29/2022, the facility must fulfill four requirements. An Examination Team, administrative staff, a standard examination room, and psychometric instruments recommended by professional organizations. Primary clinics (klinik pratama) are not listed.

The three facility types and four requirements

Article 8(2) specifies the three facility types, and Article 8(3) sets their mandatory resources:

• An Examination Team appointed by the hospital director or main clinic head, consisting of at least two members. A psychiatrist and a clinical psychologist (Article 10(2) and (6)).
• Administrative personnel (at least a computer operator and general administrator under the Annex).
• One standard examination room that is quiet, noise-free, and equipped with a computer and filing cabinet.
• Psychometric instruments recommended by the relevant professional organization.

From written request to result certificate

Examinations are initiated by a written request to the hospital director or main clinic head stating the examinee's identity. Furthermore, Examination purpose, paid by the requester (Article 14(1), (2), and (4)). Once the examinee gives written consent (Article 12(2)), the facility assigns the team within 5 working days. Furthermore, Sends the signed certificate within 10 working days of receiving the request (Article 15(1)–(2)). If a main clinic or general hospital cannot fulfill the request, it must return the application with an explanation within 5 working days (Article 17).
